Measles activity in Ontario has been increasing!

Measles is a highly contagious illness caused by a virus that spreads easily through the air and settles on surfaces. While anyone can be at risk of the Measles, it most commonly affects children. Vaccinations help protect children against measles! Routine immunizations for children are received at 12 months old and 4-6 years old (2 dose series). A 2-dose vaccination series is required to be considered fully immunized.

The Dokis Health Centre strongly encourages all members to ensure their vaccinations are up to date.  Please contact your Health Care Provider, your local Health Unit, or local Health Centre for assistance with determining your vaccination status.
